A Handy Resource is Readily Available to Conejo Valley Parents
Conejo Valley, Calif. -- Families throughout Conejo Valley can find out all they need to know about the latest children’s activity, where to find great area discounts, how to plan their day better or perhaps just connect with other parents on issues or advice.
With a launch of a new website -- www.OaksParent.com, it’s now possible to gain this wealth of information, all for free! Produced by Juliet Brown of Camarillo, the website contains an A to Z listing of businesses in the area, special promotions/discounts, free classifieds, parent chats, parent tips, monthly contests and a detailed parent planner. Users can easily access the parent planner simply by clicking on a box of their choice, which is designed to help plan their weekly activi-ties. In turn, they are able to print or email the planner to themselves or friends.
In addition, the site also contains two monthly e-news-letters to help keep users informed about local happenings and a non-profit wish list in order for families to find a way to give back to their community. Parents can also find links to all types of information they are searching for.
“My mission was to create one central source of information so families don’t have to make lengthy searches to find the right pre-school or perhaps to find the resources when hiring a babysitter or even when planning a special birthday,” stated Juliet Brown. “With a one-stop shopping format, parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles or whoever is involved in the family can go to the site, which is clearly laid out with quality businesses and easily accessible information,” she added.
Families will also find an events calendar of great family activities and can easily print out a discount card under “Local Perks” section that participating local businesses will honor. The site was designed without pop up banners that can distract from the information and is constantly updated with new infor-mation. A Spanish translation button and free e-cards are also in the works.
A stay-at-home mother of two, Juliet Brown has been married for 5 years and started using a similar site in Santa Barbara (sbparent.com) when she was pregnant with her first child. After the arrival of her second child she purchased the service agreement from Rachael Steidl, founder of the Santa Barbara site and Parent Click.com, the central source of information. “I was so sleep deprived that I didn’t have the time to search through local publications for classes and support,” stated Brown. “I came upon the Santa Barbara site and was so amazed at how helpful it was to me as a parent that I decided to start my own site to share this valuable information with other families,” she added.
